  • Dave – Well Jonathan, I’m glad you could join us for this video, I think you were out eating doughnuts or something the last time we had big Ben in last time.
  • Jonathan – That’s right.
  • Dave – I’m glad you’re here, and hey, we had a great first segment with your young friend there, Slade Johnston. What a great idea, Trips 4 Trade, trading these hunting trips, and fishing trips, and vacation things all over the place, and then the second interview wasn’t bad.
  • Jonathan – No.
  • Dave – I think we had a decent guest, if I remember.
  • Jonathan – Yeah, we got Ken Peters in. Ken’s a recent addition to the Southeastern Land Group team. Welcome aboard.
  • Ken – Thank you.
  • Jonathan – Talk to us about Dominion Trapping and tell us real quick, tell us what you and your partner do there with Dominion Trapping.
  • Ken – Basically we’re nuisance, licensed through the state of Alabama, so we’re nuisance trappers. So we take care of basically beavers, predator control, coyotes, so habitat management, those types of things as far as predator control. One thing people ask us, and I’ve gotten calls for, that we don’t do, is we don’t do bats or anything like that in the attic. That’s a pain in the butt, and they’re a federally protected species. So, that’s one of the things we don’t touch with a ten foot pole.
  • Jonathan – I don’t blame you.
  • Ken – Because if you’ve got bats in the belfry.
  • Dave – If you’ll buy 100 acre-plus farm.
  • Ken – There ya go.
  • Dave – If you buy a 100 acre-plus farm with Ken, your first coyote’s free.
  • Ken – First coyote’s free
  • Jonathan – Well then we jump down to our good friend, Randall Upchurch.
  • Dave – Yeah, Randall did a great job, he was out cruising around. We mainly talked about that I-65 barbecue.
  • Jonathan – That’s right.
  • Dave – He was out looking at poultry farms, gave us some great tips, and told us the types of buyers that are buying these poultry farms.
  • Jonathan – Yeah, and then we wrapped it up with the Wild Man Tim Baker. So glad he was able to be back on with us after taking a two week break, and gave us an update on the Sand Hill crane season. Totally fascinating. Still trying to figure out how to get my hands on one of those birds. But it was a pretty good show today.
  • Dave – Yeah, it was. Y’all be sure to listen to the rest of The Land Show here on the podcast. Appreciate you looking at this preview.
