  • Dave: Jonathan, another great show, man, the Bucks are running. We had some great guests on. And, you know, we started with Steve Tally, with Tally’s Fruit Farm, a great friend of yours.
  • Johnny: Yeah. Y’all grew up farming together there in North Albany and Morgan County. Talked about he’s pruning his peach trees and talked about some of the things you need to do to prune right now, when to plant, when to fertilize those sorts of things. There’s some good information stuff that’s on my honey do list. That’s what I used to go for today.
  • Dave: Yeah. And then Ms. MarianneHudson is such a great ambassador for the state. She kind of had a tough subject there with chronic wasting disease and what’s going on in northwest Alabama. But she found a way to even make that sound lively. She got a lot of spunk to her.
  • Johnny: She’s a very pleasant lady.
  • Dave: She was positive. A lot of great things going on. Deer harvest. The numbers look good so far for the year.
  • Johnny: Yes, for sure. Then we went to your neck of the woods over there, Dadeville Auburn area, talked to Brian Watts. He gave us an update on some of the things that are happening in timber markets and how to think about your property in the event that it suffers some wind damage or natural disaster. So he gave us some good info.
  • Dave: Yeah. And we went out of the wire grass and for our farmland report to Mr. Russ Walters. I had a big year in real estate, so lots of farms. We highlighted the Mush Creek farm. There’s a fantastic farm that you and Russ and Rick off selling over in the Selma area, about 2000 county.
  • Johnny: Yeah. It was a nice, really nice Timberland track that we closed out right at the end of the year. So we’re blessed to get that one done.
  • Dave: Had a big year with South East Asian landgra, biggest year we’ve ever had and sold over 100,000 acres. It was just a tremendous year. And I’m looking forward to a great 2022.
  • Johnny: Absolutely. Well, thank you all so much for checking out the preview here of the show. We hope you’ll tune in and listen to the whole podcast and make plans to join us for the Land Show with David Johnny.
