  • Dave: Well, it was a great land show and it was even better because Jonathan wasn’t here.
  • Brian: I wouldn’t say that.
  • Dave: We’re just joking. You listen to this. No. Jonathan was out sick. And Brian, President of our timber sales division with Southeastern Land Group, did a great job in filling in on the show today.
  • Brian: I appreciate it. I appreciate the helping out today.
  • Dave: Yeah. And it was such an interesting show. Had a couple of young ladies with Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, Kayla Greer, and then her counterpart with the SLE rodeo, Ms. Sarah Hunter, came on and we talked about all kinds of stuff. We talked about cattle farming and all the good things that the Cattle Association does. Grassroots organization that we talk about the big rodeo here in Montgomery, at least 65 years, right?
  • Brian: Absolutely. It sounded like a great opportunity to take your kids and expose them at an early age to a lot of things, all things cattle. I know take hours there.
  • Dave: We stayed in the farming vein and had Preston Roberts been on the show many times. He’s the Director of Agriculture Legislature for Alfred, the Farmers Federation here in Alabama. And Preston is a sharp guy and doing a great job just trying to protect the interests of farmers and landowners.
  • Brian: He does. If you’re not in touch with a lot of those guys, your local officials and everything, they do a great job and they protect all of our interest in timber, cattle, whatever, any kind of agricultural interest. So they do a great job.
  • Dave: I want to thank ALFA for being one of our main sponsors in the land show. They’ve been with us for a while now and they make the show happen. Then we stay kind of in the farming frame. And we found Fred Hanner’s to do our farmland report down the wire grass. And Fred told us about some commodity things. And then, of course, Poultry South.
  • Brian: Absolutely. Poultry markets booming and like everywhere else, even down his way with expansion of the smaller farms.
  • Dave: Yes. Fred’s doing a fantastic job and selling lots and lots of poultry farms in that part of the world and really all over the south. And Brian, we finished up with you, man. I appreciate you coming in and giving us a great timber report. Prices are moving up.
  • Brian: It is great time to still sell your timber. I’ve got several to look at this coming week and looking forward to helping some new landowners.
  • Dave: Well, nothing against you, Brian, but I hope Jonathan will heal up and be back with us next week on Johnny B. Put him back in the saddle. But you did a great job coming out of the dugout.
  • Brian: I appreciate said I don’t think when he watches this, I think you’ll be nervous.
  • Dave: Folks, we appreciate you watching this video review and encourage you to listen to the entire land show with Dave and Johnny and Brian today.
