  • Dave: Well, Johnny B., it was a great show. Main thing’s we had great guests and we didn’t talk too much. That’s what made it a great show.
  • Johnny: That’s right. We did have a great show today. We had the first guest that came in, Mr. Bobby Riles with CFM Fire Management. Nice koozie here he gave us. And we talked a lot about the benefits of prescribed fire for land owners.
  • Johnny: And then he had Mr. Lee Stuckey come on, who is with the Central Alabama Prescribed Burn Association and how they’re going to be able to help a lot of smaller land owners. It was a really cool program, how they’re taking military veterans and helping them become familiar with prescribed fire. I guess they’ll be certified to do that sort of stuff. But it was really neat.
  • Dave: Yeah. A lot of interconnected. This Tall Timbers, which I think is a broader organization other than just here in Alabama. And then Mr. John Stivers, a lot of people in that world know. Just a great collaborative effort and doing business with veterans who served our country. Great guys, and they’re reaching out to a lot of other veterans to bring this in and bring them into this field. Because there’s a need, there’s a real need, not only here, but in the Western United States.
  • Johnny: Yeah, for sure. So it was good stuff.
  • Dave: Yeah. And, man, then we just had a fantastic … It’s always great to have Eddie Lee Rider come on with Eric O’Keefe and the Land Report. They always great stories. They’re great storytellers.
  • Johnny: Yeah, they are. They are, and they present it so well in the Land Report. We heard about the 100 largest land owners in the country. And then there’s a new number one. Great story about the Emerson family out in California.
  • Dave: Yeah. Three in the state of Alabama. And that was interesting to talk about. I want to thank the Land Report as one of our initial sponsors when we got started years ago. Great people, great magazine, and found old Randall Upchurch out roaming around doing our farmland report. Had a great beef report, didn’t he?
  • Johnny: He did. He’s traveling all over Oklahoma, North Dakota, all over. And then we wrapped it up with Tyler Briggs who gave us an update on what’s happening with the National Wild Turkey Federation here in the state of Alabama. Some of the hunting heritage banquets or sportsman’s nights out, whatever they call them. And then our team is heading up to Nashville later this month for the big show.
  • Dave: That’s right. This coming weekend. First time we’re going to the big shot show they have up there at Opryland Hotel. Looking forward to that. They say it’s fantastic. Going to be promoting a lot of properties that we have for sale and meeting a lot of landowners selling property. Tyler’s doing a great job also selling land in both Alabama and Georgia with our paying job with Southeastern Land Group.
  • Johnny: Yeah. Well, it’s been busy. Thank y’all so much everybody who tunes in to the Land Show. Thanks for checking out this preview. And listen to the whole Land Show with Dave and Johnny.
